Harper & Brothers, NY, 1952 (copyright). First Edition - stated [B-C; February 1953]. Illustrated w/ 16 pages of B&W photographs. 1/4 gray cloth/gray mottled boards, decorative front cover (yellow & blue pictographs), blue letters. Spine bumping & rubs, hd & ft, corners. The top corner of the spine also has a slight blemish (waterspot?) A fold-open Christmas card to the previous owner has been in-laid with glue to the fff, and a previous seller's price, in pencil, also adorns the top corner of that page. No other markings. Pages are crisp and white, throughout. Just a hint of spine slant, with a bit of separation at the head, but still tightly bound. Both hinges are sound. The DJ is chipped & torn at the head & in a couple of smaller places (all closed), with edge-creasing and minor blemishes to both covers (shelf-wear, couple of spots). The spine also has a crease running vertically down the cover, evidently from being creased. The publisher's original price of $3.75 is extant at the top of the front flap. Now in a BroDart protective sleeve. 276 pages.
