Green cloth, dyed top-edge, decorative green end-papers, decorative silver front cover, decorative silver spine & letters. Minor spine bumping, hd & ft, corners. The spine & top leading edge of the front board are sun-faded & the Title is somewhat difficult to read. The silver lettering on the spine has flaked in places. The dyed top-edge has also faded & the fore- and bottom page-ends have somewhat darkened with age. The inner pages are still crisp. tho now slightly yellowing with age/poor paper quality. The book is tightly bound, with a bit of separation at the head - both hinges are sound. 261 pages.
No. 29 in the Borzoi Pocket Books series. The 1925 initial PB printing was for 3,000 copies, and the 2nd printing in 1926 was for only 1976 copies - both sold for $1.00 per copy. Regretfully, neither of the PB editions contain any of Vechten's artistic drawings.
