The Mershon Company, NY, 1858 (copyright). 6" X 4 1/4". Illustrated w/ full-page pen & ink frontis + 12 full-page engravings. Light green cloth, decorative front cover & spine, black letters. Minor spine bumping/small frays, hd & ft, corners sharp. Both end-papers & all inner pages have browned with age. The fff has been excised (possibly to remove a previous owner's inscription???). A Library Dewey Decimal number adorns the bottom of the spine (in white) & there is an old paste-mark on the inside of the front board where something has been removed (old library card???) A 1" X 3" yellow sticker about Hand-Washing has been pasted upon the blank page facing the first page of text (page 13). The edge of the illustrated frontis has a small 1/4" tear about midway on the page from mis-handling. Page 209/210 has a small printer's error at the bottom corner, where it was folded over during the binding process & subsequently remains uncut. The back board has a dark stain/watermark(?) near the outer corner. Minor blemishes to both boards, here & there. The book is still tightly bound - both hinges are sound. Still in remarkably good shape considering the book's age. 219 pages
