A small 1/2" gouge about mid-way of the spine, near the outside gutter, has been repaired. Previous owner's book stamp to inside back board/and again, upside-down on the front free fly. A previous seller's price, in pencil, adorns the top corner of that same page. Crisp white pages throughout. The spine gilt is subdued, but still extant & legible. Book is just slightly canted, with a hair of separation at the head, but still tightly bound. The back hinge has cracked, but has been carefully repaired. A small rectangular bookstore label [Smith Brothers, of Oakland, CA] is at the inside bottom of the back board. 428 pages + 4 pgs of the Author's other works.
