Previous owner's largish inscription across back of the frontis photo; another much smaller one, across very top of fff along with previous seller's price (in pencil) at that corner & corner of the back free fly. The spine & top half-inch of both boards are lightly sun-faded. All page-ends have darkened with age. Internal pages are still all crisp & white. Minor blemishes to both boards. Book is slightly off-true, but still tightly bound; both hinges are sound. 206 pages.
Subtitled: "Or, Twenty Thousand Leagues Away From The Sea: the almost incredible autobiography of Capt. Ezra Triplett's seafaring daughter". A parody of Joan Lowell's 'The Cradle Of The Deep' (1929), which was itself a phony 'true-life adventure'. "June Triplett" was a pseudonym for Corey Ford, the author.
